Pacing

by Bernard Davis April 2, 2020 No Comments

Not sure how the pacing of the current work will pan out. It seems at the moment that the faster action always involves the Female Main Character, Eleanor, while the slow passages revolve around the Male, de Quincey (Mathew to his friends).

Occasionally straying into the world of the bad guys, helps break up the pattern somewhat. I can see I need to be careful not to go down the route of an evil, moustache twirling villain, but the bad guy is really bad. I also think he’s slowly going round the bend, but who can blame him with all that’s going on around him. Mind you he was introduced while in the process of murdering his own father, so perhaps it’s to be expected.

I suppose if I was to chose one, then Eleanor would be my favourite, current character. This is the second or perhaps even the third in which the female has taken this has happened. What does that say about me? Maybe I just have this thing for strong women?
