A short story I wrote has now been accepted for inclusion on the Reedsy site, so feel free to go and have a read. Click here to see it and feel free to comment, either there or below, remember that comments really matter. It refers to a tragedy that happened in the Ribble estuary in 1886 when 27 lifeboat men lost their lives trying to rescue the crew of the Mexico that was stranded just off the shore, although it doesn’t appear to start that way.
I’m also working on a piece I started in 2022 called ‘An Ordinary Murder’. I put it to one side, at the end of that year and now it’s resurrected itself. It started off as a low key supernatural story and has now morphed into a thriller/horror. Early days, yet, but I managed 1,000 words this morning, bringing the total up to 32,000. Still a long way to go though.
